MCS holds discussions with STELCO regarding the provision of electricity to Maafushi Prison and Kaashidhoo Prison

Senior officials of Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has today met with senior officials of State Electric Company (STELCO) to discuss measures on further developing the provision of electricity to Maafushi Prison as well as provision of electricity to the prison being built at K. Kaashidhoo.

The meeting was held at STELCO this morning.

Some of the points discussed at the meeting included finding ways to establish electricity at Maafushi Prison so that there is no power cuts at Maafushi Prison despite any technical issues or a power cuts at Maafushi Island. As work construction is set to start for Kaashidhoo Prison, both parties also discussed about what is required for provision of electricity at the Prison. It was confirmed that STELCO will carry out whatever was required from their side.

STELCO was represented at the meeting by Managing Director Abdul Shukoor, Direcor Ahmed Shaneez, Senior Engineers Ahmed Yousuf and Ali Ahmed and Senior Supervior Mohamed Shan, while MCS was represented by Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Hassan Zilaal and Deputy Superintendent of Prisons Ibrahim Nashid.
