Maafushi Prison has held a flag hoisting ceremony at midnight at the Prison to celebrate its 18th anniversary.
The chief guest of the ceremony was Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Shihan.
The ceremony was joined by the Director of Maafushi Prison Assistant Superintendent of Prisons Salman Rasheed, Director of Male’ Prison Superintendent of Prisons Moosa Anwar, commissioned officers as well as a large number of officers from Maafushi Prison and ESG officers.
The ceremony was commenced with the recitation of Holy Quran and included the recitation of a special prayer for the ceremony and renewal of oath. The oath was led by ASP Salman Rasheed while the special prayer was led by Staff Sergeant Hussain Imran.
The ceremony also included cutting of the anniversary cake and the launch of the theme song for this year.
