Maldives Police Service has today commenced a training programme for prison officers of Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) under the name “Introduction to fingerprint and forensic evidence” at Maafushi Prison.
The two-day training programme will introduce participants to forensic evidence collection with scene processing, how to collect and bag evidence, how to collect fingerprint and the measures and procedures in collecting DNA reference sample.
A total of 36 officers are participating in the training programme.
The training programme is being conducted by facilitators from Forensic Directorate of Maldives Police Service.
