Maafushi Prison opens game centre and coffee hut for officers ‎

Maafushi Prison has today opened a game centre and coffee hut at the staff area for officers as part of the Prison’s anniversary celebrations. The game centre and coffee hut was opened by Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Shihan at a special ceremony held this morning.

Director of Maafushi Prison, Assistant Superintendent of Prisons Salman Rasheed said that the purposes of establishing a coffee hut and a game house for officers is to foster friendship and unity among officers and staff as well as to provide a conducive place for entertainment while off-duty.

The ceremony was also joined by senior management of Maafushi Prison and Commissioned Officers.

In addition to the opening of the new game centre and coffee hut, a friendly football match was also played among officers as part of the anniversary celebrations. The match was played by senior management team and a team with selected junior officers. Senior management won the match with a score of 5-2.
