Maafushi Prison has won the “PRC Football Tournament 2017 after defeating ESG with a score of 2-0.
The final match of the Tournament was played yesterday at Himmafushi and was inaugurated by Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Shihan.
Both teams had played rather competitively and though no goal was scored during the first half, both teams had several opportunities to score. Both teams upped their game during the second half and worked to create deadly shots towards the goal, such as the opportunity availed ESG Team’s Samin.
Maafushi Prison’s first goal was scored during the seventh minute of second half by Hussain Mohamed, while the second goal was scored by Jailam Jameel during the 18th minute.
After the match, the championship trophy, league champion shield, medals and cash prize were handed over to the winning team Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Shihan.
