Maldives Correctional Service has today signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hajj Corporation to introduce “Employee Scheme” in order to facilitate a convenient way for staff to perform their pilgrimages.
Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Shihan signed the MOU on behalf of Maldives Correctional Service while Managing Director Mr Yameen Idrees signed the agreement on behalf of Hajj Corporation.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hajj Corporation’s Managing Director Mr Yameen Idrees thanked the heads of Maldives Correctional Service and said that the scheme facilitates a convenient way for staff to perform their pilgrimages. He also said that the scheme allows each staff to choose the amount they wish to deposit to their Employee Scheme account and when the total reaches 75 per cent of the pilgrimage cost, the staff can choose which year to perform the pilgrimage.
The Employee Scheme accounts of the staff will also receive profits under the Islamic Sharia practices and staff who wish to withdraw from the scheme at any time will fully receive their savings along with the profits incurred to their savings. In addition, staff who join the scheme can also enroll their families.
