Maldives Correctional Service has held a flag hoisting ceremony at 6am today at Maafushi Prison to celebrate the Emergency Service Group (ESG)’s eighth anniversary.
In addition to the Chief Guest of the ceremony Commissioner of Prisons Mohamed Husham, the ceremony was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Hassan Zilaal, Commanding Officer of ESG Chief Prisons Officer Abdul Ghanee, Director of Maafushi Prison Superintendent of Prisons Mohamed Shaheen Ali, Superintendent of Prisons Moosa Anwar, Offender Services Directorate Superintendent of Prisons Ibrahim Mohamed Didi, Director of Asseyri Prison Mohamed Hussain and senior officers of Head Office and prisons. ESG officers and Maafushi Prison officers also joined the ceremony.
Under the guidance of Senior Prisons Officer Mohamed Mauroof, the ESG officers also took a solemn oath in honour of the occasion.
The ceremony was concluded with the cutting of the special cake by all officers. ESG was formed on 17th November 2007.
