The Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) officially inaugurated the new Front Office this morning.
The new Front Office was inaugurated by the Minister of Homeland Security and Technology Honourable Ali Ihsan. The Ceremony was attended by the Commissioner of Prisons Hassan Zareer, Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Sobah and members of the senior management.

Situated at the southwest corner of Hulhumalé Prison, facing Reethigas Magu and Kashimaa Hingun, the primary objective of establishing this new Front Office is to streamline and enhance the delivery of services to the public. Notably, similar to the MCS Headquarters; this office was constructed through the diligent efforts and hard work of prison officers and inmates participating in rehabilitation-oriented employment programmes.

The MCS Front Office will provide a range of services, including the processing of criminal record clearances, managing telephonic inquiries, and the receipt of official correspondence via email and over the counter. It will also oversee the distribution of documents to relevant sections, divisions, and commands, while maintaining administrative records and providing essential information to visitors.

Furthermore, in accordance with established procedures for families to send clothing to their incarcerated family member, the Front Office will facilitate the collection of clothing brought by families every Sunday and Tuesday.
