Maldives Correctional Service has held a flag hoisting ceremony at 6am today at Hulhumale’ Detention Centre to celebrate the Centre’s third anniversary.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Guest Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Hassan Zilaal spoke in detail about the history of Hulhumale’ Detention Centre and thanked the Director and all officers of the Centre for their hard work.
The ceremony was also attended by Director of Hulhumale’ Detention Centre Chief Prisons Officer Ismail Naseer, Commanding Officer of Emergency Support Group (ESG) Chief Prisons Officer Abdul Ghanee, Executive Director of Institute of Correctional Studies (ICOST) Chief Prisons Officer Ahmed Riza, Director of Asseyri Prison Deputy Superintendent of Prisons Mohamed Hussain, senior officials of prisons, Head Office and ESG. Several officers of Hulhumale’ Detention Centre also took part in the ceremony.
Under the guidance of First Class Prisons Officer Ahmed Shareef, the officers of Hulhumale’ Detention Centre also took a solemn oath in honour of the occasion.
The ceremony was concluded with the cutting of the special cake by Deputy Commissioner and all other officers present at the ceremony.
