Institute for Correctional Studies (ICOST) has yesterday begun the 23rd batch of the BasicTraining Course, Certificate 3 in Custodial Management and Security Programme at Maafushi Prison.
A total of 60 male prison officer trainees are participating in the current batch of the programme, which will continue for 17 weeks.
The programme is formulated for new prison officer recruits of Maldives Correctional Service to train and equip them with the knowledge to effectively carry out their duties as prison officers. The programme aims to shape all participants into officers who are decent, well-behaved, obedient and physically fit while having the basic knowledge and skills required to be prison officers.
