Maldives Correctional Service has conducted pledging ceremony of the newly joined officers today.
Ceremony was honored by Commissioner of prisons Ahmed Shihan, joined by Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Hassan Zilaal, ICOST executive director SPO Ahmed Shahid, Division Commanders, and Commissioned Officers.
Newly joined officers took their oath under Jinaan Ibrahim, Senior Magistrate of Maafushi Court, at the ceremony held at Maafushi Prison Lecture Hall. Jinaan Ibrahim also spoke about the importance of the oath, and why it shall be respected.
Taking the oath is crucial for prison offices according to the 44th article of Maldives Prison and Parole Act 14/2013.
30 officers took oath at today’s ceremony.
