Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Shihan and Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Hassan Zilaal has today inspected the progress of the boundary wall project of Maafushi Prison.
60 percent of 20-feet-tall and 1.4-metre-long concrete wall has been completed. The boundary wall construction is carried out by inmates of Maafushi Prison.
The work of such projects are carried out even during the alert status because these projects are related to the security of the prisons. Also, work carried out for the rehabilitation of inmates is greatly prioritised by Maldives Correctional Service.
Maldives Correctional Service places special focus on the boundary wall project as it relates to strengthening the security of the prison.
