Team HQ has today defeated Asseyri Prison with a score of 2-1. This was the fifth match of “PRC Football Tournament 2017” organised by PRC.
At the 13th minute of the first half, Team HQ’s Hussain Sobah was unable to score despite having a clear opportunity to shoot; though a couple of minutes later Ahsan Ali had scored a goal and taken the advantage for Team HQ. The first half ended with the score at 1-0.
During the second half of the match, Asseyri Team improved their game and made several dangerous attempts to score but Team HQ’s goalkeeper Ismail Shiham skilfully deflected the shots. Asseyri Team’s single goal was scored by the Team’s Captain Ali Sajid at the 22nd minute. Team HQ’s Hussain Sobah tipped the scales in Team HQ’s favour by scoring a goal from a free pass at the 25th minute of the second half.
Following the match, Asseyri Prison Team’s Coach Abdulla Rashad said that his Team may have lost but they had played well, though there were four unutilised opportunities to score during the first half. He praised Team HQ’s goalkeeper and said that the reason Asseyri Team lost was due to the sharp reflexes of the goalkeeper. He further said that Asseyri Team’s defense was weaker today and that resulted in more stress to the midfielders.
Team HQ’s Coach said that he was very satisfied with the outcome of the match and with more practice; they can perform better than today.
Today’s man-of-the-match was Team HQ’s goalkeeper Ismail Shiham.
Tomorrow’s match is scheduled between Male’ Prison Team and Maafushi Prison.
