Maldives Correctional Service has today held a perimeter-clearing event at Asseyri Prison.
The event was held from 9:00 am till 12pm and included pulling out weeds growing in the northern side of the prison as well as cutting down of smaller trees and low-hanging branches the area. The cleaned area was 300 feet long and 200 feet wide.
The event was carried out by several officers of Asseyri Prison as well as some inmates.
The Director of Asseyri Prison Assistant Superintendent of Prisons Mohamed Hussain said that they regularly hold such events and was carried out with high spirits and energy. He also thanked the prison officers and inmates involved for their contribution.
