Commissioner of Prison Ahmed Shihan has yesterday checked the progress of the boundary wall of Maldives Correctional Service’s Maafushi Prison.
The Deputy Commissioner of Prison Hassan Zilaal and Director of Maafushi Prison, Assistant Superintendent of Prisons Salman Rasheed also joined the Commissioner.
The boundary wall is to be 20 feet high and 1.4 kilometres long. The work of the wall is being carried out by officers and inmates under the supervision of Maldives Correctional Service.
A work day was also organised by officers and staff of Head Office, Male’ Prison, Asseyri Prison and Hulhumale’ Detention Centre on 28 May 2016 to help speed up the work of the wall.
