The second batch of “Certificate 1 for Basic Sewing” course organised by Maldives Correctional Service for inmates has begun today at Maafushi Prison.
The five-week course is registered at Maldives Qualifications Authority and 19 inmates from Maafushi Prison and one inmate from Asseyri Prison are participating in the course. The classes are intended to proceed in two groups of 10.
Maldives Correctional Service has stated that currently another sewing course is underway with 20 inmates as participants and is expected to conclude next week.
