Director of Asseyri Prison, Assistant Superintendent of Prisons Mohamed Hussain has laid the foundation for a goat farm at Asseyri Prison.
Though goats have been farmed at Asseyri Prison for quite some time, the present quarters housing goats are proving to be too small for the expanding herd. Once completed, the farm is expected to address the space-limitation issue.
Maldives Correctional Service aims to expand goat farming and involve more inmates in the project.
The foundation-laying ceremony was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Hassan Zilaal, commissioned officers and several officers of Asseyri Prison.
