Maldives Correctional Service has held the graduation ceremony for the 18th batch of Entry Level Training Programme (ELTP) at Maafushi Prison last night.
The certificates to graduates were awarded by chief guest Commissioner of Police Hussain Waheed. All 23 officers of the 18th batch had successfully passed the training.
The four-month Entry Level Training Programme is the basic and mandatory training which all new prison officers of Maldives Correctional Service must undergo.
Some of the classes in the programme include first aid, search people and properties, observation techniques, fire fighting, locks and key, restraining techniques, ethics and prison escort.
The most “fit” officer of the training was Prisons Private Jailam Usman while the “best officer” of the training was Prisons Private Ahmed Shifan.
All current officers of Maldives Correctional Service have successfully undergone ELTP.
