A team of 10 officers from Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has participated in the “Prison Dispatch / Guard Officer Training of Trainers” programme in Türkiye.
The Training, held from 17-28 July 2023; was participated by Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Mohamed Fulhu, Assistant Commissioner of Prisons Mohamed Asif and senior-ranked officers.
The purpose of the Training Programme is to utilise the knowledge gained by the senior officers during the Training programme in training middle and junior-level officers as well as further develop the Maldives prison system.
The Training Programme included an induction on the Turkish prison system and modules such as “Psychology of the Offender”, ” Offender and inmate psychology”, “Adjustment Problems and adjustment disorders”, “Behavioural disorders and defence mechanism”and “legislation, general situation of prisons”.
In addition, the team also visited a Turkish prison and observed the operations.
