PRC Football Tournament 2019 organised by Prison Club has commenced today. The Tournament is held at the No. 1 turf area of the Maafannu Stadium.
The Tournament was honoured and inaugurated by Chief Guest Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Uz. Ibrahim Mohamed Didi.
The ceremony was attended by President of the Prison Club Chief Prison Officer Abdul Ghanee, committee members of Prison Club, team members and officials.
The opening match was played by Team HQ and Male’ Prison, with the former defeating the latter with a score of 1-0.
A total of five teams are participating in the Tournament, which will be held from 26th July 2019 till 09th August 2019. The participating teams include reigning champions Maafushi Prison, ESG, Team HQ, Male’ Prison and Asseyri Prison.
The Tournament will be held in league style, with the four teams with most points moving on to compete in the semis. The winning two teams of the semis will subsequently compete for the championship title at the final.
