MCS holds certificate awarding ceremony for graduates of rehabilitation framework phase 1 and phase 2

Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has today conducted a ceremony at Maafushi Prison to award certificates to male inmates who completed Phase 1 and 2 of rehabilitation framework.

Today’s ceremony was honored by the Commissioner of Prisons, Abdullah Munaz, joined by Deputy Commissioner of Prisons, Ibrahim Mohamed Didi, Directors of Prisons, Commissioned Officers, and several officers from Maafushi Prison.

In addition to handing over certificates to graduates of Phase 1 and 2, certificates were also given to facilitators of both phases.

41 inmates completed phase 1 and 2 in which 8 of the inmates completed the program with 100% marks.

MCS introduced the four-phased Rehabilitation Framework in 2016 to in order to reform inmates, educate and teach them useful skills which can motivate them to becoming good citizens and earn a living after they are released from prison.
