Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has today commenced Certificate 2 in Computer Application at Maafushi Prison as part of MCS’ efforts to provide various educational and vocational training for prison officers.
The 15-week course is taught by facilitators from Institute for Correctional Studies (ICOST). The course is targeted for those who wish to get ahead in the field of computers and will aim to teach basic computing and hence is also joined by few inmates who desire to gain knowledge in this field.
The course modules include Microsoft Office 2010’s Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook, Corel Draw 7, computer hardware and software, Communication skills, English and Mathematics.
The course is accredited by Maldives Qualification Authority.
