A team from the Emergency Support Group (ESG) of Maldives Correctional Service is visiting Asseyri Prison from 13th to 17th February 2016 as part of their activity calendar.
According to the Commanding Officer of ESG, Chief Prisons Officer Abdul Ghanee, the team will review the security of the Prison and identify any issues that needed to be corrected in the follow up report. CPO Abdul Ghanee said that immediate steps will be taken to rectify any such issues. In addition, the team will also review ESG’s plan on responding to prison emergencies and take corrective measures.
The Team will also conduct Primary Response Team Training (PRTT) refresher for prison officers with the special training and execute many scenarios which include all officers.
CPO Abdul Ghanee further stated that every month ESG plans to visit a prison and monitor their security plans and take corrective measures if required.
