Maldives Correctional Service (MCS) has today won the “President’s Cup Recreational Futsal Tournament 2017” match played against Department of National Registration (DNR) with a score of 18-0.
Following the match, Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Shihan had met with the players and officials of MCS Team and praised and thanked them for the terrific performance during the match.
MCS had scored five goals during the first half, while 13 goals were scored in the second half. Out of the 18 goals, Hussain Ali had scored five while Hussain Nafiz had scored four with Ibrahim Haleem scoring three goals and Jailam Jameel and Abdulla Jameel scoring two goals each. The remaining two goals were scored by Moosa Hassan Fulhu and Adam Hussain Manik.
There are 38 teams competing in the Men’s Division of the Tournament with seven teams competing in the Women’s Division. The Men’s Division is divided into eight groups and the leading two teams of each group will move on to the second round. Hence, 16 Teams would be competing in the second round. From the second round, the Men’s Division will proceed in the “knock-out” system.
MCS’s next match is scheduled for tomorrow night against Ministry of Economic Development.
