PRC holds Arena Hotels PRC Volleyball Tournament’s closing ceremony ‎

Prison Recreation Club has last night held the closing ceremony of the Arena Hotels PRC Volleyball Tournament 2017 following the Men’s Division final match.

The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Shihan, while the ceremony was also joined by Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Hassan Zilaal and commissioned officers. Mr Usmaan Rasheed, the President of Maafushi Council also joined the ceremony.

The tournament was sponsored by Arena Hotels, a renowned guest house business in Maafushi. Arena Hotels is a company that widely operates guest houses in Maafushi.

At the ceremony, trophies and certificates were handed over to the champion team, those that won various titles and the parties that helped to execute tournament. icostesg-650x350

The Champion of Men’s Division was ICOSTESG while the runner-up was Maafushi Prison 2. Maafushi Prison 1 won the Fair-play title. newwss-1024x722

The Champion of the Women’s Division was New Star SC while the runner-up team was WDC. The Fair-play title was won by Maafushi School.

The Best Six Female Players of the tournament were WDC’s Mufasha, Fathimath Shanoora and Afra Adam, New Stars SC’s Sharuwa Mohamed and Mariyam Najfa and Aminath Fazla. The Most Promising Female Player of the tournament title went to Maafushi Prison Team’s Fathimath Shafeena while the Best Coach of the Women’s Division was New Star SC’s Coach Ismail Shiham.

The Best Six Male Players of the tournament were ICOSTESG’s Ahmed Faris Ali and Ali Asif, Maafushi Prison 2’s Hussain Fazeel, Ismail Shiham and Mohamed Shareef and Maafushi Prison 1’s Hussain Samah. The Best Libero title had gone to ICOSTESG’s Izzath Saleem  while the Most Promising Male Player of the tournament title went to ICOSTESG’s Firash Abdul Raheem. The Best Coach of the Men’s Division was ICOSTESG’s Coach Abdul Majeed.

The Referee Committee of the tournament were led by Abdulla Simad Ali, Ahmed Faris and Ashraf Ibrahim. Prison Club had profusely thanked these individuals for their valuable service.
