Maldives Correctional Service has informed the passing away of an inmate serving time at Maafushi Prison.
The inmate, Ahmed Lishan, 23 of Roashaneege, Dh. Maaenboodhoo had passed away at 9:10 pm.
Ahmed Lishan had passed away while being rushed to K. Maafushi Health Centre following complaints of chest pains and a request for a doctor.
Ahmed Lishan had been serving a 10-year sentence for a drug case.
