Maafushi Prison has yesterday held a cleaning event inside the prison and outside perimeter as part of the activities organised to celebrate its anniversary.
The event were participated by a large number of officers from Maafushi Prison, Emergency Support Group (ESG) and Institute for Correctional Studies (ICOST).
The event was carried out under the slogan “The prison environment shall be cleaned by us – I will also go” and started around 2pm and went on till 6pm. The event was carried out with great energy and spirit.
A lot of junk and garbage were disposed during yesterday’s clean up.
Maafushi Prison’s anniversary is 01st of November while ESG’s anniversary falls on 17th of November.
