“PRC Badminton Tournament 2017” organised by the Prison Recreation Club has commenced last night.
The Tournament, held at the indoor badminton court of Maafushi Prison, was inaugurated by Director of Maafushi Prison Assistant Superintendent of Prisons Abdulla Ameen.
During his speech, ASP Ameen noted the lack of support provided by other prison for the Tournament.
The Tournament is open for all employees of Maldives Correctional Service and 12 employees are participating in the singles category while seven teams are to participate in the doubles category.
Two doubles matches were played last night. The first match was won by First Class Prison Officer Madheeh Rifath and Prison Sergeant Anwas Moosa, while the second match was won by Chief Prisons Officer Ahmed Riza and First Class Prison Officer Hussain Seeniyaz.
