Maafushi Prison has today held a family day to celebrate the Prison’s 18th anniversary and Emergency Support Group’s (ESG) 8th anniversary. The event is targeted for the officers and staff of Maafushi Prison and ESG.
The event was held at Maafushi Prison at early evening.
Chief Prisons Officer Aishath Riuza said the purpose of holding such an event was to facilitate a friendly and joyful setting for the officers, staff and their families to spend quality time together, especially when prison officers often have to spend a long time away from their families.
The event had several activity stalls, where children had the chance to win many prizes as well as participate in other fun activities. The event was joined by numerous children and family members of MCS employees.
When asked about the event, several children spoke about how much fun the event was and said they were happy to play and spend time with so many children at such a place.
