Strong winds badly damage the boundary wall being built at Maafushi Prison

Part of the boundary wall being build at Maafushi Prison has fallen down yesterday.

At around 1:57 pm yesterday, 230 feet of wall on the western side fell down with strong gusts of wind. The part that had fallen down had yet to be put on cement coat. Work has begun to check for the stability to the structure of the damaged part and to restore the wall.

The boundary wall is to be 20 feet high and 1.4 kilometres long. The work of the wall is being carried out by officers and inmates under the supervision of Maldives Correctional Service.
