Officials from Police Academy has today met with officials of Institute for Correctional Studies (ICOST) of Maldives Correctional Service (MCS). The meeting was held at the MCS Head office.
The main discussion point of the meeting was the inclusion of a module on the responsibilities and role of Maldives Correctional Service in the Police Recruitment Training conducted by Police Academy. The participants also discussed the possibility of including few Police Officers in the Custodial Management and Security Programme (CMSP) conducted by Maldives Correctional Service, and conducting the Aerosol Subject Restrain (ASR) training for Prison Officers that have not completed the training.
Maldives Correctional Service was represented at the meeting by Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Hassan Zilaal, Executive Director of ICOST Chief Prisons Officer Ahmed Riza and facilitators of ICOST, while Police Academy was represented by Superintendent Ahmed Shameem and facilitators of Police Academy.
