MCS starts 21st batch of basic training course

Institute for Correctional Studies (ICOST) has today started the 21st batch of the basic training course at Maafushi Prison’s training grounds.

The opening ceremony of the training was honoured by Commissioner of Prisons Ahmed Shihan as the chief guest of the ceremony.

The ceremony was also joined by Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Hassan Zilaal, Executive Director of ICOST SPO Ahmed Shahid, Director of Male’ Prison SP Moosa Anwar, Head of Offender Service Directorate SP Ibrahim Mohamed Didi, Director of Maafushi Prison CPO Abdul Ghanee and several commissioned ranked and senior ranked officers.

The participants of the 17-week course include 29 male prison officer trainees.

The opening ceremony commenced with the recitation of Holy Quran by PSSGT Hussain Imran while the note of thanks and introduction were made by PSSGT Aminath Suwaidha. The ceremony concluded with the recitation of oath, led by Chief Course Instructor FCPO Mohamed Nishwan.
